Eastgate Shopping Centre is a super-regional shopping centre located in Bedfordview. Lying between Joburg CBD to the West and O. R. Tambo Airport to the East, the shopping centre is the 4th largest in Gauteng.
The mall opened its doors in 1975, and was designed by architect M. Paul Friedberg and was developed by Melvin Simon & Associates. It was originally anchored by JCPenney, Montgomery Ward, and Sears. Over the years, it has undergone several renovations and expansions to its current state as you know it today.
Eastgate boasts over 250 stores from home decor to fashion, department stores, beauty emporiums, and everything in between, this is a one-stop mega shopping destination.
