The Biggest Crystal Clear Lagoon In The Southern Hemisphere….

Balwin Properties has launched Munyaka development in Waterfall City, which is home to the biggest crystal-clear lagoons in the southern hemisphere.

Costing R10 billion, the development is already done with the first phase; 1000 apartments are not only completed but occupied too, while the arched lifestyle centre – which features restuarants, gym facilities, and more – is also open for businesses.

Set to be fully completed late in 2023, Munyaka will boast over 5000 apartments featuring internet fibre, eco friendly appliances, Scandinavian-style kitchen, a balcony, as well as a pre-paid water and electricity meters.

The development will also offer residents additional amenities such as an on-site concierge, a swimming pool, meeting rooms, a cinema, laundromats, a wellness spa and water activities such as paddle boarding and canoeing.

The main attraction of the Munyaka development is the 3-hectare clear-water lagoon at the centre of the project, which Balwin representatives describes as bringing “Hollywood-style beach living to Johannesburg”.

Pricing for apartments around the lagoon starts at R3 million and can go to as much as R70 million.

However, the development also goes far beyond just the ‘extravagant lifestyle’ apartments surrounding the crystal lagoon.

According to Balwin representatives, a large number of the apartments in the development that aren’t located around the lagoon will retail between R989 900 and R2,369,900 depending on style and number of rooms.

Long term infrastructure upgrades are planned which include the establishment of a Gautrain station, the extension of the K60 from Van Der Bijl Avenue to Allandale Road, as well as the establishment of a world-class sporting facility and retail convenience shopping center.
